Hervé Diasnas

Journey of a Dancer and

After studying at Mudra, the school founded by Maurice Béjart, Hervé Diasnas created his first piece, (Threshold)noteworthy pieces as choreographers in the early 80’s, Hervé Diasnas left France to study in the U.S. But while a great number of them chose to study with the founders of contemporary dance, Diasnas was attracted by ballet training. At one point he suddenly abandonned dance and the dance world to pose as a model for artist Carlo Pittore, whom he considered, from then on, as his mentor. Back in France, he met François Verret, and together they made the piece parcours (End of the Lane)

In October 2001, Diasnas created a cultural event in Reims city center with dancer and choreographer LamielleThis itinerant street event, called TRANSPARENCES... Rémoises, took place in the shop windows of eighteen city-center tradespeople. The event was so successful that the company launched a new edition of TRANSPARENCES...TRANSPARENCES...different situations, including the summer event Paris plage, with the adapted piece taking the name of Avant-Seine (Downstage by the Seine).

Between times, two new pieces – Les buveurs de brume (Fog Drinkers), for five dancers, and libellule (sans aile et au ralenti (Lightning Passage of a Dragonfly, Wingless in Slow Motion), an aerial dance solo (2002) – were performed at the Centre Culturel André Malraux-Scène nationale de Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy, where the company enjoyed a residency. The music of both shows was by Hervé Diasnas, and was released on CD by CCAM in September 2003.

Late in 2004, Le sourire de l’aube Villeurbanne. Diasnas commenced a residency at the Théâtre de la Madeleine, Troyes, in September 2004, working on a new solo:  Vlaï, la légende des marionnettes, (Vlaï, the Legend of Puppets, echoing his piece songe, (Naï or Dreaming Crystal) (first given in New York in 1981, and played regularly since then). Thanks to the residency, Chroniques aériennes, (Aerial Chronicles), an aerial/ground duo and a joint effort with the Strasbourg company , was also created, and was first played on 13th September

2006 / 2007: Residency at the Théâtre de Vanves.

.Vlaï, la légende des marionnettes, (Vlaï, the Legend of Puppets), will be given once a month throughout the season. Other artistic partnerships are to blossom, such as Le parvis des ondes, (The Courtyard of Waves), a musical and choreographic piece (music with transducers, composed by the Yep duo), danced by Hervé Diasnas, and , a duo co-created with Bruno Pradet. Both will be danced for the first time in 2007. Diasnas will also be working on a new way of proposing performing arts pieces to spectators, through the choreographic, visual arts and video performance  (Theatre Muse).
